The film has been made upon the author’s earlier reports, which had been created since 2000. The earliest of them is a record of an elderly German’s visit to his family home abandoned by his family in 1945. Another one shows a German fisher’s son telling of moving back to his home town in his old years. He had been living there in his childhood and the town has a Polish name today. There is also a pastor, a pastor’s son who finds his own baptismal fond in a town which he calls “meine not meine”. And a German woman who, as a child, served in a Jewish house in postwar Szczecin. “Lord cast Cain East of Eden”, as Book of Genesis says. Somewhere in the border of cultures there lurks evil and there is a potential possibility of choosing the good.
