Idea

“Jewish Culture Days Adloyada” festival has been held in Szczecin since 2012. At that time, the representatives of three Szczecin institutions – The National Museum in Szczecin, Philological Faculty and Faculty of Humanities of the University of Szczecin and Secesja Cafe restaurant began to cooperate for the popularization of Jewish culture. The  idea they were guided by was to create a space for discussion on Jewish culture. Over time, particular editions of the festival were given profiled forms. The editions were devoted to: testimony of the Holocaust, economy, the Law, desacralization of various fields of contemporary culture (literature, philosophy, art). A particular place among the festival events is taken by meetings and debates on the most important publishing novelties, lectures, film shows, literary workshops and meetings with outstanding artists and researchers.

Adloyada is not only talking about the culture, but also a chance for direct meeting with it during exhibitions, concerts and shows. It is worth highlighting that each edition of the festival has been followed by a publication compiling, among others, conference texts and those that were the fruit of particular discussions, as well, as reproductions of works presented on exhibitions.
